Theresa & Zack
A couple of years ago, I met this wonderful gal named Theresa – through a wedding shoot that she did with her new man. She has been a champion of my photography ever since, always supporting me. She always likes my posts, reads any thing I put out there and has a love of my art. I’ve also worked my way through and networked with just about every person she’s kin/known to 🙂 I just love her.
Last year, she and I were supposed to do a family shoot, but a little girl, whom I won’t name, decided to show up. Which made me have to reschedule everything. And after that, every time we were supposed to shoot something would happen or our calendars wouldn’t line up.
Last month, I received a call from a mutual friend that Theresa’s son had passed away, but I didn’t receive any more information than that. I reached out via phone, but didn’t hear anything back. I think my heart was broken that we never got to do those family photographs that she had wanted to do.
A couple of days ago, she reached out to me to shoot her daughter’s all white graduation party. And I offered my condolences. One thing led to another and we were talking about what had occured. And I PROMISED her I would blog about it.
Here is Zack. He was murdered. In broad daylight. And the person they want to question can’t be found.
Theresa has posted a $10k reward with crimestoppers and is actively speaking out against violence in the weeks since Zack’s death. I am so proud of her for not resting, for not letting this tragedy impede her will to shout to other victims, to the public, and to those responsible for his death.
Please watch the news reel and listen to her. Take a few minutes of your day.
From one mom to another, Theresa, I cannot imagine filling the shoes you are walking in today, or even the rest of your life. But girl, I am so here for you if you need me.
Lots of Love,
