Living Things Around Here – Part 1
I don’t think I’ve ever introduced the dogs on here – but it’s about time to do so. I have three Boston Terriers. Jack, Lily, and Clara. All three were adopted so I have no idea how old any of them really are, but I definitely know Jack is the oldest.
In the past few months I’ve seen a decline in Jack’s hearing – he just doesn’t notice noises like he used to. I can walk in a room and get right up on him, touch him and that’s when he realizes that he has company.
I’ve never owned a pet from beginning to end. I’ve never had to put down a pet or have one die on me – especially one that I’m this close to. He likes to lay in the sun outside, and his black fur gets so toasty that it’s really hard for me to wake him up. He loves it. So I went outside the other day, just after the sun had gone behind some clouds to sneak some quick pictures of him. Of course, the minute I get on the ground nosey Clara intrudes while Lily runs around with some sticks. All the while he just sleeps right through it.
Here are some pics, the last is of Lily eating her stick and Clara trying to have some of it:
The other thing in the back yard is G’s pond. He and John broke their backs on that pond, figuratively of course, and it is really a great addition to the backyard. When people see it they are pretty impressed. This post is about living things so I wanted to share the koi & goldfish as well as the dogs. My koi is named Blockhead. If you look at the pictures below, I’m sure you’ll spot him. He seriously has a block (or square) on his head. Awesome right?
