Happy Holidays!
This post is a bit late, but I didn’t want to ruin anyone’s Christmas card by posting pictures of them. This year has been a very busy year for me. First, I opened shop with my sister Kate for our wedding photography business, Meg & Kate Weddings. I decided to go back to school to finish my degree in Fine Arts. I am currently half way through the degree trek and am determined to finish this path. I have watched a little girl grow up and a son become dedicated to a girl for the first time in his life (hi Sarah!). My husband and I have found a good spot in our lives, and we are getting along better than ever. And for the first time in my life, I’m exploring religion.
There are areas that I want to get better in. For instance, I started keeping a journal of Good Things that I do, that no one else knows that I do except for the people that I do things for…I wanted to live life more positive and send out positivity into the world. My thought was that by keeping a journal, I would remind myself to keep being actively helpful. I have signed up to help out at a cat shelter nearby, Good Mews, to give a couple of hours each week to cleaning out cages and interacting with the cats to get them adopted. I’m hoping to use my photography to help these kitties find homes.
I also started a new position with my HOA, which I would have never done before, but I felt like it was time to really get to know my neighbors. This is our home, and our neighbors are part of our lives.
This year, I want to enter more contests for Art & Photography and I want to take a photography trip somewhere. I don’t know where yet.
This year, I want to live healthier, because lawd, the weight I’ve packed on is killing me. But Reese cups are so good. And chocolate donuts. Dang it.
This year, I want to get to know my clients better – I want to interact with them and be a part of their lives besides the photography part. Which means I will be entertaining…oh boy. That sounds fun!
Anyway, Happy Holidays to you and yours. I hope your new year is as eventful as mine is GOING to be 🙂
xoxoxox,
Meg
P.S. A special thank you to those clients who sent me cards…I JUST LOVE THEM!
