Gibbs Gardens – The Daffodil Festival

Mary, Kate and I went to a local garden the other day.  It’s fairly new, and by new I don’t mean the gardens themselves, what I mean is that their doors have only been opened for a little over a year.  It’s nestled in the little town of Ball Ground Georgia – a hidden treasure amongst the never ending trees.

It’s simply amazing.  Mr. Gibbs, the landscape/gardener/designer has been working on the gardens for over 33 years – and all year round, every three weeks, something in the garden blooms.  When you think about the amount of detail that went into the garden, it’s just overwhelming.

If you get a chance, take a look at their website, it’s simply spectacular.

We went during the Daffodil Festival, where there are over 500,000 daffodils in bloom – I’ve never seen so many in one place at one time.  They are one of my favorite flowers, and remind me of watching Alice in Wonderland as a child…
